Hydrogeologist

Are you an experienced, enthusiastic, highly challenging Senior Hydrogeologist from a consultancy background, having experience in groundwater control industry, then you are the one we are looking for?

Interpreting technical data and information to build a conceptual model of groundwater flow and quality in order to verify groundwater control system design.

Provide technical support and expertise to the estimation, sales and operational teams from design stage through to project execution.

Use of modelling techniques to enable predictions to be made about future trends and impacts on groundwater flow and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

Estimate quantity of groundwater extraction required in order to validate a dewatering system design, in line with project requirements, in order to recommend a cost-effective groundwater control system solution.

Provide technical support and expertise to the estimation, sales and operational teams from design stage through to project execution.

Develop, perform, analyze and present numerical ground water control models based on

Project Soil Investigation Report

Contract drawings and specifications

Insitute permeability tests (pumping tests, slug tests)

Project timelines / construction schedules

Design, conduct and analyze groundwater hydraulic tests (Slug Test, Pumping Test) for the purpose of enhancing the company’s engineered solution to groundwater control activities.

Make recommendation as to water quality and treatment procedures when required.

Applying a knowledge of fundamental geology to develop an understanding of how the rock types and structure in an area impact on groundwater occurrence and movement.

Understanding and interpreting maps, geographical data, historical evidence and models to build a conceptual model of groundwater flow and quality.

Using computer software to model groundwater flow, according to geological formations, surface water flow and man-made influence.

Undertaking field work and site visits for investigative and monitoring purposes.

Undertaking environment impact assessments of groundwater abstraction and management activities.

Analyzing collected information to assess and/or predict the impact of temporary groundwater control activities on groundwater quality and resource availability.

Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and keeping up to date with technological and legislative developments.

Generation of project specific reports, where required, to convey the required information to the appropriate target audience in a concise and professional manner.

Participate in meetings with clients regarding project progression and performance on site, as and when required·

Maintain good working relationship with all parties at all levels at all times when representing the Company, Sub-Contractors, Staff and third parties.

 

Education / Skills / Knowledge

 

Degree in Science or Natural Resources, majoring in Hydrogeology, or Engineering majoring in Water Resources or equivalent from an internationally recognized University.

Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology would be advantageous.

A minimum of 4+ years of related work experience with a consultancy background.

Working knowledge of Modflow software or equivalent.

Sound knowledge of the principles of hydrogeology, and experience in the application of hydrogeological techniques.

Experience in Technical Report writing.

Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making.

Experience in project management with an emphasis on working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and managing, assessing and reviewing work of other staff, consultants and contractors.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

 

Job Location: Neom, Saudi  

Type of Employment: Permanent / Full time

Salary: SAR 11,000 – SAR 16,000
