Job description:

Are you experienced in handling import/export logistics, customs clearance, and shipping documentation within the UAE? Do you excel at coordinating with freight forwarders, preparing compliance documents, and ensuring the smooth movement of goods across international borders?

We’re looking for a skilled Logistics Specialist to manage import/export operations and documentation for our Dubai-based operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UAE customs procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a solid background in international trade logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end import and export logistics processes, including shipping arrangements by sea, air, and land.
  • Prepare and manage all shipping and trade documentation, including:
  • Commercial invoices
  • Packing lists
  • Certificates of origin
  • Bill of lading / airway bills
  • Customs declarations
  • Free zone or mainland clearance documents
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines to coordinate delivery timelines and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
  • Ensure shipments comply with UAE regulations, port rules (e.g., JAFZA, DAFZA, DMCC), and international trade requirements.
  • Monitor the movement of shipments and update relevant departments with tracking status and documentation milestones.
  • Coordinate with procurement, finance, and warehouse teams for GRN processing, duty payments, and inventory entries.
  • Maintain detailed shipment records, manage archiving of documents, and assist with internal/external audits as needed.
  • Stay informed about Incoterms, UAE VAT/import duties, and changing import/export regulations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain within the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of Dubai Customs procedures, free zone vs. mainland operations, and clearance processes.
  • Proficient in preparing complete and accurate shipping documentation.
  • Hands-on experience working with logistics platforms or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, CargoWise, or similar).
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-up and coordination skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and under time pressure with multiple deadlines.

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Salary Range: AED 5,000 – 7,000/month (depending on experience)
