Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) Engineer

Job Brief:

Are you an experienced Managed Pressure Drilling Engineer with strong offshore/onshore drilling expertise? Do you have hands-on experience with MPD systems and well control operations?

We are looking for a skilled Managed Pressure Drilling Engineer to join a reputed oil & gas organization in Kuwait. The role involves planning, execution, and optimization of MPD operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and execute Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations in accordance with well objectives and HSE standards.
  • Operate and monitor MPD systems including Rotating Control Devices (RCD), choke manifolds, and real-time pressure control equipment.
  • Analyze well data to maintain bottom-hole pressure within safe operating limits and mitigate drilling risks such as kicks, losses, and wellbore instability.
  • Coordinate with drilling, mud, logging, and well control teams to ensure seamless MPD integration.
  • Develop MPD procedures, contingency plans, and operational guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot MPD equipment and provide technical support during drilling operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare daily reports, post-well analysis, and performance evaluations related to MPD operations.
  • Support training and mentoring of junior engineers and rig personnel on MPD practices.

 

Required Qualification / Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling operations, with proven hands-on experience in Managed Pressure Drilling.
  • Strong knowledge of well control principles, drilling hydraulics, and pressure management techniques.
  • Experience working with MPD service providers and advanced drilling technologies.
  • Ability to interpret real-time drilling data and make sound engineering decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prior Middle East experience is an added advantage.

Salary: Negotiable

Type of Employment: Full Time / Contract (as per project requirement)
