Job Brief:
Are you skilled in purchase and sales of vessels and maritime assets including tankers, bulk carriers, LPG, LNG, and offshore units? Do you have the ability to generate leads, negotiate with ship owners, and close deals in the global ship brokering space? If so, we are looking for you.
The client seeks a highly motivated Purchase & Sales Ship Broker who can actively manage vessel transactions, build long-term relationships with ship owners, and drive profitable business growth in international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vessel Sales & Acquisition: Manage end-to-end sale and purchase transactions of ships (tankers, bulk carriers, LPG, LNG, and other assets).
- Lead Generation: Identify and qualify leads, approach ship owners, buyers, and investors, and develop new business opportunities.
- Client Engagement: Build, maintain, and nurture strong relationships with ship owners, charterers, and financial institutions.
- Negotiation & Deal Structuring: Negotiate commercial terms, prepare sale/purchase agreements, and ensure smooth transaction closure.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct regular market research on vessel values, market movements, and competitor activities to identify profitable opportunities.
- Newbuilding & Secondhand Vessels: Engage with shipyards, ship owners, and brokers to facilitate transactions for both newbuild and secondhand vessels.
- Networking: Attend international shipping events, exhibitions, and trade shows to strengthen the company’s market presence.
- Documentation & Compliance: Coordinate legal and technical documentation related to transactions, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
Required Qualification / Experience / Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ship brokering (Purchase & Sales) with proven track record in vessel transactions.
- Strong network of ship owners, buyers, and industry stakeholders globally.
- Educated in UK, British institutions, or Norway – maritime or business background preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of global shipping markets, vessel types, and asset valuations.
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.
- Fluency in English (written & spoken) is required; additional languages are a plus.
